Akume Urges Nigerians to Embrace Peace, Unity During Eid-el-Kabir

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, , has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, calling on citizens to promote peace, sacrifice and national unity.

In a Sallah message issued on Tuesday, the SGF described Eid-el-Kabir as a period of deep spiritual reflection, compassion and devotion to the values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

Akume urged Nigerians to use the celebration to pray for the peace, stability and progress of the country, stressing that the virtues of obedience, selflessness and faith in God remain critical to fostering harmony and strengthening national cohesion amid prevailing socio-economic and security challenges.

He commended Muslims for their contributions to national development and peaceful coexistence, noting that Nigeria’s diversity should serve as a source of strength rather than division.

The SGF also appealed to citizens to promote tolerance and mutual understanding irrespective of ethnic, religious or political differences.

According to him, Nigerians should continue to support the policies and programmes of the administration of President , adding that ongoing reforms by the government are already yielding positive results.

Akume stated that the Federal Government remains committed to improving the welfare and living conditions of citizens across the country.

He further encouraged Muslim faithful to extend love and kindness to the less privileged during the celebration, saying the spirit of sacrifice associated with Eid-el-Kabir should inspire greater care for vulnerable members of society.

The SGF prayed for continued peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria and wished Muslims a joyful and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration marked by happiness, safety and renewed hope for the nation.
