Dear Friends,
As our nation observes Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the values of sacrifice, service, compassion, and shared humanity.
On this Memorial Day, we honor the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of the values they held dear. We also remember all victims of war and conflict around the world, including families, children, humanitarian workers, and communities whose lives have been forever changed by violence and loss.
While our focus today is to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we also acknowledge that two weekends ago, many celebrated Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day, in its original intent, was a powerful call for peace and humanity. The first Mother’s Day proclamation in 1870 asked women across the world to work together to ensure that no child should have to endure violence or be compelled to inflict it upon others.
May this season of remembrance and reflection inspire unity, compassion, and hope for future generations.
With Gratitude,
Hon Dennis Aikoriogie PhD.
