Trump Skips Son’s Wedding, Cites Duties to America

United States President Donald Trump has announced that he will not attend the wedding of his son, Donald Trump Jr., citing pressing government responsibilities and his commitment to the United States.

In a post shared on his Truth account on Friday, Trump said the demands of governance would prevent him from being present at the ceremony involving Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Bettina Anderson.

“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump stated.

The president described the current period as an “important period of time,” stressing that affairs of state required his continued presence at the White House.

Despite his absence, Trump congratulated the couple on their upcoming wedding and extended his best wishes to them.

The announcement has drawn attention across political and social circles, given the close public relationship often displayed by members of the Trump family during major events and political campaigns.
