The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has issued a stern warning to subversive elements and enemies of the state, urging them to refrain from carrying out attacks during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, General Musa called on individuals planning to disrupt the peace to reconsider their actions. He assured Nigerians that troops remain committed to protecting lives and property, and urged military personnel to remain vigilant.
General Musa also reflected on the year’s challenges, acknowledging the nation’s security concerns, but expressing gratitude to God for keeping many alive to witness another Christmas. He extended warm Christmas greetings to members of the Armed Forces, security agencies, and Nigerians at large.
The Chief of Defence Staff paid tribute to fallen heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing their sacrifices as the ultimate price for Nigeria’s peace and security. He urged troops to honour their memory by ensuring 2025 is marked by improved security outcomes across all operational theatres.
