President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to eradicating security threats and violent crimes in Nigeria. He also commended the Armed Forces for their successful hosting of the 2nd African Military Games in Abuja.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu praised the military for showcasing unity and camaraderie that transcends borders and strengthens African ties. He emphasized that the event was more than a display of athletic prowess, but a celebration of collaboration, excellence, and collective determination to address shared challenges.
Tinubu noted that the games demonstrate what can be achieved through unity, not just as soldiers, but as guardians of a shared destiny. He also highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration, adding that events like the African Military Games promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
As the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, Tinubu pledged to pursue stabilizing solutions across the continent, describing it as a duty owed to the people. He called for deeper ties among nations and a stronger sense of camaraderie among military personnel to achieve success.
The President commended the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the OSMA President, Major General Abdullahi Maikano, for their leadership and dedication in making the event a success. He also congratulated delegates from participating countries for their sportsmanship and professionalism.
