President-elect Donald Trump vowed during a rally in Washington to ensure that all American universities eliminate antisemitism on their campuses or face losing accreditation.
He emphasized that to “defeat antisemitism and defend Jewish citizens in America,” he would notify every college president that if antisemitic material isn’t addressed, their institutions would risk losing accreditation and federal funding.
“We will not subsidize the creation of terrorist sympathizers, and we’re not going to do it – certainly on American soil,” Trump declared.
He further stressed that, once in office, he would direct educational institutions to take responsibility if they allow violence or harassment against Jewish students, holding them accountable under civil rights laws.
“It’s very important – Jewish Americans must have equal protection under the law, and they’re going to get it,” Trump stated.
Additionally, he promised that his administration would act quickly to restore a sense of safety for Jewish students on campuses and for Jewish citizens throughout American streets, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding their rights and security.
