President Bola Tinubu will soon inaugurate three vital gas infrastructure projects in Delta and Imo States, undertaken by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and partners.
The projects align with his commitment to harness gas for economic growth.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, the projects support the federal government’s effort to maximize value from gas assets and eliminate gas flaring. The projects, located in Kwale (Delta state) and Ohaji South (Imo state), will increase domestic gas supply by approximately 500mmscf/d, fostering a better investment climate and balanced economic growth.
The projects include:
– AHL Gas Processing Plant 2 (GPP-2) – 200mmscf/d, an expansion of the Kwale Gas Processing Plant (GPP-1)
– ANOH Gas Processing Plant (AGPC) – 300MMscf/d, an integrated gas processing plant in Imo State
– ANOH-OB3 CTMS Gas Pipeline Project, a 36”x23.3km transmission gas pipeline
These projects will significantly increase domestic gas supply, leading to increased power generation and industrialization.
The exact inauguration date was not disclosed, but the projects are expected to make a substantial impact on Nigeria’s economic growth.
