Kidnapping Plot Foiled After Abductors Doze Off, Pastor’s Wife Flees

Five suspected kidnappers accused of abducting a pastor’s wife and two others, have been arrested by the police after their victims identified one of them.

The victims had managed to escape when their captors fell asleep due to the effects of hard drugs.

The suspects, Garuba Mumuni (27), Yusuf Tale (21), Kabiru Muhammed (16), Shaibu Umar, and Adamu Mohammed (22), were apprehended by the Ofosu Division police after the victims recognized one of them.

According to the police, “A kidnapping case was reported at Ofosu Division, where a pastor’s wife and a church member were kidnapped, along with a third victim who was taken while picking snails at a farm.

“The victims escaped from their captors on different dates after they had taken hard drugs and fallen asleep.”

Through intelligence, five of the six kidnappers were arrested on May 1, 2024, and have been identified by the victims as part of the gang that abducted them. The police are still searching for the remaining suspect.
