Former Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Ajayi Agboola, has emerged as the winner of the ongoing People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election.

He secured 264 votes out of a total of 621 votes cast. Chief Sola Ebiseni, a former Secretary General of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Political Group, Afenifere, may come in second.

Agboola previously served as deputy governor to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu before they had a falling out due to irreconcilable differences.

An attempt to impeach Agboola during the crisis between him and Akeredolu was unsuccessful.
