Dangote Refinery has announced another reduction in its ex-depot petrol price, lowering the nationwide gantry price from N1,175 to N1,125 per litre.
The latest price adjustment was confirmed on Thursday by the spokesperson for the Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, who stated that the refinery reduced its petrol loading price by N50 per litre.
In addition, the refinery’s coastal petrol supply price dropped from N1,495,215 per metric tonne to N1,428,165 per metric tonne.
The reduction follows a sharp decline in global crude oil prices, which have fallen to between $69 and $73 per barrel, returning to levels seen before tensions in the Middle East pushed prices higher.
This marks the second fuel price cut by the refinery within two weeks. On June 16, Dangote Refinery reduced its gantry price by N75 per litre, a move that led to lower pump prices across parts of the country. Combined, the refinery has now slashed its petrol price by N125 per litre since international oil prices began easing.
Despite the reductions, retail petrol prices in Abuja and surrounding areas still range between N1,241 and N1,305 per litre.
Many Nigerians are calling for further cuts, hoping pump prices will fall to between N800 and N900 per litre—the levels recorded before the escalation of the Iran–United States–Israel conflict on February 28, 2026.
