Flamingos Step Up Preparations for Guinea Clash Ahead of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria’s Flamingos have intensified preparations ahead of their 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixtures against Guinea.

The team, led by coach Akeem Busari, arrived in Ikenne from Abuja on Sunday as they continued their build-up for the crucial qualifiers.

As part of preparations, the Flamingos are scheduled to face Lakeside Queens in a friendly match at the practice pitch of the Remo Stars Stadium on Thursday.

The team had earlier played five friendly matches during the first phase of camping in Abuja as the technical crew assessed players and fine-tuned strategies ahead of the encounter.

The Flamingos are also expected to engage in additional friendly games before travelling to Conakry for the first leg of the qualifiers slated for Sunday, May 24.

The return leg will take place a week later at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
