Chelsea FC have parted ways with manager Liam Rosenior following a disappointing run of form in the Premier League.
The decision was taken on Wednesday evening, just a day after the Blues suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. The loss saw Chelsea slip to seventh place on the league table, dealing a significant blow to their hopes of securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Rosenior’s dismissal comes after a poor streak that saw the team lose five consecutive league matches without scoring a single goal. The club’s management reportedly reached the decision after reviewing the team’s declining performances and results.
The 40-year-old coach had only taken charge in January after leaving RC Strasbourg to replace Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
Confirming the development, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Chelsea have decided to SACK Liam Rosenior with immediate effect. It’s OVER after 4 months, and 5 consecutive defeats with 0 goals scored.”
Chelsea are now expected to begin the search for a new manager as they aim to revive their season and push for a strong finish in the remaining fixtures.
