The Federal Government has announced the temporary suspension of its recruitment portal for paramilitary agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to enhance system efficiency and accommodate high traffic volumes.
This development was disclosed in Abuja on Wednesday by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. A.M. Jibril (Rtd.), who stated that the decision was taken to streamline the application process and ensure fairness and transparency.
According to the statement, the portal — which has been witnessing an overwhelming influx of applications since its launch on June 30, 2025 — will reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025.
“This pause will allow us to optimise the portal to handle the high volume of traffic and guarantee a smooth, transparent, and credible recruitment process,” Jibril stated.
The suspension applies to all agencies operating under the CDCFIB, including:
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS)
The Federal Fire Service (FFS)
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
While acknowledging the overwhelming interest shown by Nigerian youths in serving the nation through these agencies, the board reaffirmed its commitment to a merit-driven recruitment process.
“We commend Nigerians for their enthusiasm. The Board remains dedicated to ensuring equal opportunity and transparency in all stages of recruitment,” the statement noted.
Applicants are advised to stay updated via official channels and to submit or complete their applications once the system is reactivated on the scheduled date.
