President Tinubu Meets Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is holding talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is on a two-day official visit to Nigeria.

Upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Yi was welcomed by Dunoma Umar Ahmed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting is focused on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in China.

Discussions will cover key topics, including the economy, politics, and the oil and gas sectors. Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, is also present.

After their closed-door discussions, both foreign ministers are expected to brief the press on the outcome of the meeting.
