Jeff Baena, a writer, director, and husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, has passed away at the age of 47. He died by suicide at his home in the Los Angeles area on Friday morning.
According to TMZ, an assistant discovered Baena’s body around 10:30 a.m. local time on January 3. Law enforcement sources confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene and ruled the cause of death as suicide.
Born and raised in Miami, Baena attended film school at New York University before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Baena had over a dozen directing and film credits to his name, including projects that showcased his creative talent.
Actress Aubrey Plaza has not yet commented on the tragedy. This loss marks a significant moment of mourning for those who admired Baena’s contributions to film and storytelling.
