President Tinubu Appoints Daniel Bwala as Media Adviser, Names New Directors for Key Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media at the State House. This appointment, announced on Wednesday by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, places Bwala, a seasoned lawyer and public affairs analyst, in charge of the President’s communication strategies. His role will focus on streamlining messaging and promoting transparency.

Additionally, Tinubu appointed three new Directors-General for key national agencies, aimed at strengthening sectors like sports, tourism, and public procurement to align with his administration’s objectives.

Olawale Olopade has been named the Director-General of the National Sports Commission. A seasoned sports administrator, Olopade previously served as the Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Ogun State and chaired the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival. His vast experience in Nigerian sports management is anticipated to propel the commission toward achieving new goals.

In the tourism sector, Dr. Abisoye Fagade has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. As the founder of Sodium Brand Solutions and an expert in marketing communications, Fagade’s background is expected to bring innovative strategies to boost tourism and industry growth in Nigeria.

Dr. Adebowale Adedokun will now serve as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Previously, Adedokun was the bureau’s Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning, equipping him with the experience needed to enhance transparency and efficiency in public procurement processes.

In a statement, Tinubu’s office highlighted that these appointments align with the President’s vision to bring in experienced professionals to drive national progress.

“Olopade served as commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun State and was chairman of the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival,” the statement noted.

“The new Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, is a marketing communication expert and the founder of Sodium Brand Solutions,” it added.

“Adedokun, the new head of the Bureau of Public Procurement, was the Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning at the bureau before his appointment.”

“The Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media, Mr. Daniel Bwala, is a lawyer and notable public affairs analyst.”

The President urged all newly appointed officials to fulfill their roles with dedication, patriotism, and excellence.
