The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken disciplinary action against Senator Dino Melaye, suspending him due to alleged anti-party activities.
The decision was made by the Ayetoro/Iluagba Ward 1 party executive committee after reviewing a report from the disciplinary committee.
Melaye’s actions were deemed detrimental to the party’s interests and unity, prompting the suspension. This is not an isolated incident, as the PDP has previously suspended other members for similar offenses.
For example, Peter Babalola, a party chieftain from Osun, was suspended in August 2024 for failing to attend party meetings for two years.
Similarly, former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom was suspended by the Benue PDP for alleged anti-party activities.
The PDP is cracking down on members who engage in activities that harm the party’s unity and interests.
