Some terrorists have attacked the Unguwan Liman community in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing a community leader of the area and abducted scores of villagers.
It was gathered the terrorists also threatened to attack the community again.
A resident of the area, Malam Uban Marayu, who confirmed the attack to newsmen on Monday, said the incident took place around 10.00 pm on Sunday night when the hoodlums invades the community.
According to him, several residents of the community were kidnapped by the terrorists who came in huge numbers
“They came yesterday (Sunday) around 10.00 pm. They struck at the periphery of Birnin-Gwari where they killed Maiunguwa at Unguwan Liman, 3 kilometers from Birnin-Gwari town.
“An unspecified number of people were kidnapped (males and females). In the nearby Kwanan Shehu community they looted shops only. May the mercy and protection of Allah continue to be with us,” he said
There was no official reaction from either the State Government or the police as there was no response to a call put to the state Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Jalige, as of the time of filing this report.
