CSO Accuses Kano Attorney General Over Failure To Arraign Doguwa Before A Competent Court

THE Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF), on Tuesday accuses the Attorney General,  and Commissioner for Justice,  Musa Abdullahi Lawan for his failure to arraign before a competent court of law, the House Leader,  Alhassan Ado Doguwa over his alleged role in mass murder.
The Kano State police command had a month ago arrested, docked the House Leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa before a Magistrate court in Kano over his role in the devastating electoral violence that rocked his country home during the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Kano Police Command had said Doguwa evaded arrest before they activated a motion that led to his arrest by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bompai, Kano, at Malam Kano International Airport culminating in his arraignment March 2nd.
Ibrahim A. Waiya, the Convener, Kano Civil Society Forum in a petition titled “Petition Against Attorney General Of Kano State over delay to prosecute Ado Alhasan Doguwa”, explained that no fewer than 177 have signed it so far.
He revealed that our target is 200 signatory, expressed confidence the “petition is more likely to be featured in recommendations”
Ambassador Waiya lamented that “As concerned citizens, groups and those that believe in the sanctity of human lives, we are worried by the slow and unprecedented delay to frame charges and arraign the suspects particularly Hon. Ado Alhassan Doguwa who was accused of playing the leading role in the destruction of lives and properties”.
The Kano based CSO’s maintained that the House Leader under a sane clime “ought to have been arraigned before a competent court of law by now to face the music.”
He stated the CSO are “deliberately giving prominence to these two LGAs because they happened to be the alleged theatre of killings and burning of innocent people, as reported.”
Ambassador Waiya therefore enjoined “every right-thinking Nigerian, local and international organizations to join us in the crusade to fight for Justice for the family of the victims”
He explained the steps would ensure rule of law, social justice, public safety as well as respect for humanity and sanctity for human lives.
Efforts made to sought the reaction of the Attorney General and the Commissioner for Justice,  Musa Abdullahi Lawan failed as his known GSM lines could not be reached .
