President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to commission the Concentrate Plant of Bensono Fruit Processing Company Limited in Makurdi, Benue State, on Saturday, in a major boost to Nigeria’s agro-industrial sector and agricultural value chain.
According to a statement issued by the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), the commissioning ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Industrial Layout in Makurdi.
BIPC described the concentrate plant as a landmark investment aimed at expanding fruit processing capacity, creating employment opportunities, promoting value addition to agricultural produce, and driving industrial development across Benue State.
The company noted that the project reflects the commitment of the Benue State Government under Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to economic transformation through strategic investments in agro-processing and sustainable industrial growth.
In the statement signed by the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, the project was described as a significant milestone in the state’s industrialisation agenda and a key step toward unlocking the full potential of Benue’s abundant agricultural resources.
BIPC also extended invitations to government officials, development partners, investors, members of the business community, the media, and the general public to witness the commissioning of the facility.
The commissioning is expected to attract key stakeholders from across the country and further strengthen Benue State’s position as a leading destination for agro-processing, agribusiness investment, and industrial development in Nigeria.
