President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments, replacing Dakorinama Alabo George as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) with former House of Representatives member Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas.
The appointments were announced on Friday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
George, who was reportedly backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, resigned from the BCDA to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket for the 2027 Rivers State election. However, he lost the party’s nomination to Kingsley Ogundu Chinda.
Namdas, a former member of the House of Representatives, had previously stepped down from the race for Speaker of the House in support of Femi Gbajabiamila, who now serves as President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff.
In another appointment, former Edo lawmaker Patrick Obahiagbon was named Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), replacing Ogbeide-Ihama.
President Tinubu also reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC.
The latest appointments are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition key government agencies and strengthen public service delivery.
