Hon. Alex Mascot, widely known as the “Voice of the Masses,” has declared that Nigeria is currently facing a state of crisis akin to war, warning that the country’s worsening security, economic, and social challenges require urgent national attention.
Speaking during a recent session at the National Assembly, the outspoken lawmaker expressed deep concern over the increasing hardship confronting ordinary Nigerians, insisting that the nation can no longer afford to ignore the alarming realities on ground.
According to Hon. Mascot, persistent insecurity, rising poverty, unemployment, and the growing suffering among citizens have pushed the country into a dangerous situation that demands immediate and decisive action from leaders at all levels.
“Nigeria is at war,” he stated passionately, emphasizing that the battle may not be conventional, but is evident in the daily struggles, fear, and uncertainty experienced by millions of citizens across the country.
The lawmaker, who has consistently used his platform to advocate for the welfare of the people, lamented that despite his repeated warnings and outcries on the floor of the National Assembly, many believe that little attention or urgent response has been given by those in authority.
His comments have continued to generate reactions among Nigerians, with supporters praising his courage for speaking openly about the country’s challenges, while others have called on government officials to take stronger measures to address the issues affecting citizens nationwide.
Hon. Mascot reiterated the need for unity, accountability, and swift intervention to prevent further deterioration of the situation, urging leaders to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of the Nigerian people above political interests.
