Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sankera Stakeholders Forum, Colonel Edwin Jando, retired, has said Honorable Terwase Orbunde, was in the best position to tackle insecurity in Benue State, if given the opportunity.
The former Special Adviser to the Governor on Security spoke in Makurdi on Sunday, 3rd May, 2026 when members of the forum were filling Honorable Orbunde’s governorship nomination form.
He said having been a member of the Benue State Security Council for several years as well as a survivor of gun attack, Orbunde was in the best position to mobilize human and material resources to confront the security challenges confronting the state, if given the mandate to be Governor in 2027.
Colonel Jando retired, stated that Honorable Orbunde’s presentation on how he would confront what he described as the existential threat was most appealing to Sankera people hence they have decided to give him their blessings for his Governorship journey.
Honorable Orbunde had earlier stated that it was imperative for him to intensify consultations with members of the Forum on account of the historical ties between the Kwande Intermediate Area and Sankera as well as the common challenges confronting both political blocks and the entire people of the state.
He said he believed that God who has spared his life and enabled him to build capacity over the years has done so for him to be able to assist people fulfill their destinies and also confront challenges confronting them.
A member of the forum, Mrs Comfort Akaan, brought her neighbor, Mrs Catherine Akende, to testify and express appreciation to Honorable Orbunde for sponsoring her son, Thompson Akende, and four others who are currently studying in Russia.
