The 2027 inter party Benue State governorship advocacy committee comprising All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members from Kwande and Ushongo local government areas has charged its leadership to consult and select a consensus aspirant.
The group, also known as Kwande G84, took the decision at the residence of the late Chief Dr Ignatius Aker Gajir in Lessel where arrangements for the funeral of Chief Atsaga Anemba, one of its leaders, were also concluded.

Speaking at the meeting held on Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026, leader of the group, Barrister Vincent Uji, APC Zone A chairman, expressed appreciation to members for their commitment to the realization of its objectives which he said the late Chief Atsaga championed until his very last day on earth.
Barrister Uji stated that the best way to honor the memory of the deceased was to conclude the assignment he started adding that he would consult to take the final decision on a consensus governorship aspirant from the Kwande intermediate area.
Those who spoke, Chief Joseph Mayange, Lady Veronica Gajir, Engr Charles Mary Avul, Dr Orjiir Gbande, and Pharmacist Patrick Ahenjir said consultation for a consensus aspirant was the right way to go, emphasizing that with a united front Kwande people would realize their aspirations and overcome their challenges.

They urged all members to attend the funeral of the late Chief Atsaga Anemba slated for this weekend at Ikyobo, Mbakuha, Ushongo local government area of Benue State.
