President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stirred mixed reactions after making a lighthearted remark suggesting he could send Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the opposition camp to destabilize them.
The President made the comment on Tuesday while delivering his speech at the inauguration of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking humorously at the event, Tinubu said, “Senate President, I will send you to the other side to represent me. And then you can scatter them to any way you want. They’re confused!”
The remark, though delivered in a joking tone, has since generated conversations across political circles and social media, with some interpreting it as a playful jab at opposition parties.
Tinubu concluded his address on a patriotic note, saying, “God bless Nigeria, God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the tax collectors.”
