Buhari Govt Printed ₦30trn, Sparking Economic Woes – Jimoh Ibrahim
Abuja, Nigeria – Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has criticized the former Buhari administration for printing ₦30 trillion, saying it exacerbated Nigeria’s economic challenges. Speaking on a TV programme, the APC senator and newly appointed ambassador blamed the move for worsening the country’s economic woes.
Ibrahim praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying they’re yielding results and have kept Nigeria off the global list of most indebted countries. He cited improved macroeconomic indicators, including GDP growth of 4.23% in Q2 2025 and moderating inflation of 15.10% in January 2026.
The senator attributed Tinubu’s success to prudent fiscal management, terming it “Bolaeconometrics”. He emphasized the need for sustained reforms to strengthen the economy and improve Nigerians’ lives.
