An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Benue State, Hon. Terwase Orbunde, has congratulated the people of the state as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of its creation.
In a statement issued on Monday, Orbunde rejoiced with Benue indigenes on the milestone, marking the state’s creation on February 3, 1976. He expressed profound gratitude to God for blessing the state with abundant human and natural resources, as well as a resilient, hospitable, resourceful, and hardworking populace endowed with rich and captivating cultural heritage.
The former Chief of Staff to the Governor paid glowing tribute to the founding fathers of Benue State and other patriotic sons and daughters whose sacrifices and outstanding contributions have driven the state’s growth and development over the past five decades.
Orbunde also commended critical stakeholders across the state for their continued efforts in addressing the numerous challenges confronting the people, noting that collective commitment remains key to sustainable progress.
He urged residents to give thanks to God for the gift of Benue State and to reflect with gratitude on the milestones achieved since its creation.
The APC governorship hopeful further prayed for divine guidance to enable the people of the state to sustain peaceful coexistence, foster unity, and accelerate the overall development of Benue State in the years ahead.
