Okpebholo Directs LG Chairmen to Install 360 Billboards for Tinubu’s Re-election in Edo

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has instructed chairmen of the state’s 18 local government councils to erect a total of 360 campaign billboards in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The directive was issued on Friday, January 30, 2026, during the inauguration of the Edo State chapter of the National Renewed Hope Initiative, a platform established to advance President Tinubu’s development agenda.

Governor Okpebholo explained that each local government chairman is expected to install 20 billboards within their respective councils. According to him, the initiative is aimed at ensuring that the Renewed Hope message reaches grassroots communities, including churches, mosques, and other religious institutions across the state.

Commending President Tinubu’s reforms in sectors such as petroleum, security, education, and the economy, the governor described the President as a performer whose leadership should be sustained. He said the ongoing reforms are already yielding positive results and transforming the country.

Okpebholo urged Edo residents to rally behind President Tinubu’s second-term bid, expressing confidence that citizens across all age groups are ready to mobilise massively for his re-election.

“It is not just about the agenda, but the capacity to mobilise. Edo people are prepared. Nobody can replace a performing president,” he said.
“With 30 APC governors nationwide, the President’s re-election is already strengthened. Victory in 2027 is assured.”

He further stated that religious groups would soon be formally inaugurated to help spread the campaign message, adding that churches and mosques must actively participate in the mobilisation drive.

The governor also disclosed that he had promised President Tinubu 2.5 million votes from Edo State, a figure he said has since risen to 3.9 million following commitments from party leaders and women’s groups.

Earlier, the Edo State Coordinator of the National Renewed Hope Initiative, Sylvester Aigboboh, inaugurated senatorial, local government, and youth coordinators for the 2027 campaign. He praised President Tinubu’s bold reforms, noting that they are attracting investors and gradually restoring hope among Nigerians.

Aigboboh said the removal of fuel subsidy is beginning to show positive outcomes and urged the newly appointed ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation while promoting the administration’s policies and achievements.

He described the inauguration as the formal launch of a people-driven movement designed to strengthen party outreach, promote good governance, and consolidate the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Joshua Uwagboe (Edo South), Hon. Odinose Okojie (Edo Central), and Hon. Abdul Lawani (Edo North) were appointed as the three senatorial leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors. Eighteen local government coordinators and three youth coordinators were also inaugurated.

The appointees thanked Governor Okpebholo for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to take the campaign to the grassroots to ensure President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
