Man Behind Inflammatory Comment Calling for Jihad in Yorubaland Identified

 

Moferewa Bashorun, also known as Bashorun Mo on X, has been identified as the individual behind a recent inflammatory comment online calling for Jihad in Yorubaland. The comment sparked concern within the Yoruba community, with many condemning Bashorun’s remarks as threatening and intimidatory.

According to reports, Bashorun, an Okun man from Kogi State who identifies more with his Fulani heritage, made the comments during an online discussion. He stated that it was time to start preaching Jihad in Yorubaland, citing the rejection of Sharia law in the region as the reason for his anger.

Bashorun’s comments have generated widespread reactions on X, with many users condemning his remarks as hate speech. He has also been identified as a protocol officer for former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai during his first term, and currently works in the Kaduna civil service.

Despite the backlash, Bashorun has remained defiant, stating that he could get away with anything he says and does. His comments have sparked concerns about the potential for violence and extremism in the region.
