The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Working Committee in Benue State has nominated former Governor Samuel Ortom as a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT) . This decision comes after the expiration of the tenure of previous members.
According to Tim Nyor, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, the nomination was made in compliance with Sections 32(1)(g) and 32(4) of the PDP constitution. The party recognized Ortom’s experience and dedication, making him the ideal candidate for the position.
The nomination was announced via correspondence from the party secretariat to Ortom, signed by the party Secretary, Dan Nyikwagh. The State Working Committee, led by Chairman Rt Hon Ezekiel Awulu Adaji, unanimously endorsed Ortom for the position, acknowledging his invaluable contributions to the party, exemplary leadership, and commitment to the PDP’s ideals and progress.
The party expects Ortom’s new role to enhance the PDP’s influence and strategic direction, particularly as it prepares for upcoming elections. His contributions to the BOT are anticipated to strengthen the party’s cohesion in Benue and ensure the state’s interests are represented within the national party framework.
