The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State election, bail in the sum of N30 million over allegations of cyberstalking and other offences involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
Justice Akintayo Aluko granted the bail on Friday, November 6, 2026, with two sureties required to provide the same amount.
As part of the bail conditions, Ogala was directed to surrender her international passport to the registrar of the court.
The court also restrained the actress from making any online publications capable of exposing prosecution witnesses to harassment, threats or intimidation throughout the pendency of the case.
Justice Aluko explained that the bail conditions were designed to balance Ogala’s constitutional right to personal freedom with the need to protect witnesses and ensure her attendance at subsequent court proceedings.
However, the judge expressed concern over Ogala’s conduct during proceedings on October 28, 2026, when she allegedly caused a disturbance in the courtroom, resulting in the adjournment of 10 cases.
According to the judge, her conduct raised concerns about her ability to maintain order and avoid causing further disturbances outside the courtroom.
“By her misconduct and conduct in the open court, when she disrupted proceedings and caused a series of adjournments without any justification on the 28th of October, 2026, the defendant has exposed herself as a person capable of fomenting trouble when she is outside the courtroom,” the judge said.
The court’s decision therefore grants Ogala temporary freedom under strict conditions while proceedings in the cyberstalking case involving Pastor Chris Okafor continue.
