A multi-vehicle collision occurred along the Interchange section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday, leaving at least 11 persons with varying degrees of injuries. The accident, which involved a Mazda bus, a truck, and a Toyota Hiace bus, occurred at around 7:30 am.
According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesman for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred when the Mazda bus collided with the truck, which was attempting to enter a private company’s premises. The Toyota Hiace bus, which was traveling behind, lost control and collided with the other vehicles.
Akinbiyi reported that 21 people were involved in the crash, with 11 sustaining injuries, comprising eight males and three females. The injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital in Shagamu by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Emergency responders at the scene included personnel from the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the FRSC, and the Police.
