In a significant development, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has secured an agreement with Dangote Refinery to lift refined petroleum products directly. This partnership, announced by IPMAN National President Abubakar Garima, ensures steady and affordable supply of PMS products nationwide.
According to Garima, “We’re pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets.”
This deal comes after IPMAN and PETROAN previously accused Dangote of selling fuel at inflated prices. Dangote Refinery responded, stating, “We had lately refrained from engaging in media fights, but we are constrained to respond to the recent misinformation being circulated.”
The agreement is expected to positively impact Nigeria’s fuel supply chain, ensuring more efficient distribution and potentially stabilizing prices.
Industry experts welcome this development, citing potential benefits for consumers and the economy.
“This partnership is a significant step towards addressing Nigeria’s fuel supply challenges,” said an industry analyst. “Direct supply from Dangote Refinery will reduce logistics costs and enhance availability.”
With this agreement, IPMAN members are poised to benefit from direct access to refined products, improving their operational efficiency.
The Nigerian government and regulatory bodies will likely monitor the implementation of this agreement to ensure its effectiveness in addressing the country’s fuel supply needs.
