Notorious Abuja Car Thief Arrested for Selling Rebranded Stolen Vehicles

 

 

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested Steven Abang, a notorious car thief known for receiving, rebranding, and selling stolen vehicles. Abang was tracked down to Rayfield, Jos in Plateau State, where he was found with a stolen Honda Accord.

 

The vehicle’s owner, Philemon Olaoluwa, reported the theft on October 10. The thief, Abdulhamid Saidu, posed as a mechanic and disappeared with the car.Digital tracking technology led police to Abang’s workshop.

 

 

-Abang confessed to selling over 16 stolen vehicles in four years. Two additional vehicles were found at his workshop, likely stolen and being rebranded. Abang is in custody and will face charges after further investigation.
