NSCDC Commandant Bags Five-Year Jail Term over Employment Fraud

A Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been sentenced to five years in prison for employment fraud. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) secured the conviction at the Katsina State High Court 3.

The Commandant was found guilty of receiving N900,000 from three individuals, promising to secure jobs for their children with the NSCDC. The statement from ICPC reads: “The convict received N200,000, N300,000, and N400,000 from three individuals under the pretext of securing jobs for their children with the NSCDC.”

This conviction serves as a warning to those engaging in fraudulent activities, and ICPC’s commitment to combating corruption is reinforced.
