About sixteen people including a reverend father were abducted when gun men suspected to be kidnappers attacked three villages in Zing Local Government Area of Taraba State, Friday night.
The gunmen numbering over 100 riding on motorcycles attacked Dekko, Lama and Monkin villages midnight Friday and abducted 16 people.
According to Hobnob News reports, many of the villagers sustained gunshot wounds while trying to escape into the mountains during the attacks.
According to a source from the area said the gunmen were part of the bandits dislodged by the Army and hunters recently at mountainous areas in Yorro Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesman of Taraba State Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the attack but said he was waiting for details and actual number of people abducted from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Zing LGA.
