National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu Meets US NSA, Jake Sullivan Over Security Collaboration

The National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu has met with his US counterpart, Jake Sullivan on Thursday to discuss security collaboration between the two countries.

A White House statement say Ribadu’s meeting with the US NSA, had focus on efforts to counter terrorism in West Africa, and the importance of respect for human rights.

The two National Security Adviser also discussed the strengthening of democratic institutions and good governance across Africa.

Sullivan while reiterating President Biden’s commitment to Africa, underscored the strength of the US-Nigeria relationship, which included welcoming Nigeria’s strong leadership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The US NSA also raised areas where the United States and Nigeria share interests, particularly in supporting peace and stability in countries that have recently experienced political transitions.

The two countries agreed to maintain close coordination and continue to deepen their partnership to advance shared interests.
