EFCC chair urges students to shun fraud, corruption

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulkarim Chukkol, on Wednesday, advised students of Crescent Schools, Victoria Island, Lagos, to shun fraud and corruption.

He also urged the students to use their energies for useful engagements and avoid the temptation of trying to acquire wealth through fraudulent ways.

“Channel your time and creative energies into useful engagements and not into dishonest and dubious means of cheating others of their resources,” he stated.

Chukkol also inaugurated the EFCC Integrity Club in the school. He urged the students to know more about the effects of corruption on society.

He said, “As students and leaders of tomorrow, you need to have a deeper understanding of the havoc being wreaked on our nation by the monster of corruption.”

The school Principal, Ustadh AbdulGaniyy Mahmud, expressed his gratitude to the anti-graft agency for inaugurating the Club in the school.

“We are ready to partner with the EFCC in the fight against economic and financial crimes, and we are glad that the Integrity Club has now been added to the clubs in the school,” he remarked.

He assured that the school management will ensure that the newly formed club achieves the purpose for which it was inaugurated by the EFCC.

“Our relationship with the EFCC will be a partnership without regrets and our students will also be change agents in making Nigeria a great nation,” he said.

A total of 120 students took the oath of service alongside the executives of the Integrity Club.
