The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) on Saturday hosted a watch party for the UEFA Champions League final as part of efforts to promote Zeva Beer and other products produced by its Food Basket Brewery.

The event, which attracted football enthusiasts and supporters of locally made products, was organized as part of the company’s strategy to increase public awareness and market penetration for its growing range of beverages.

Speaking during the event, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, CFA, said the watch party was designed as a market penetration initiative aimed at boosting the visibility and consumption of products from the Food Basket Brewery.

According to him, the company plans to intensify advertising campaigns for its products during the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in order to further expand its customer base.

Dr. Asemakaha called on residents of Benue State to patronize locally manufactured products, stressing that such support would enhance revenue generation and create employment opportunities for the people.

He explained that the consumption of locally produced goods plays a critical role in economic development.

“In behavioral economics, citizens are encouraged to consume what they produce because doing so helps grow local businesses and strengthens the economy,” he said.

The BIPC boss urged consumers to choose Zeva Beer and Oyi Bitters whenever they consume alcoholic beverages, adding that the brewery also produces malt drinks and is expanding into the production of carbonated soft drinks to cater to non-alcohol consumers.

He further disclosed that the ongoing installation of new equipment at the brewery would significantly increase production capacity and contribute to the realization of the economic development vision of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

Also speaking at the event, the Plant Manager of Food Basket Brewery, Emmanuel Adoje, and the plant machinery installer, Engr. Luo, described the brewery’s products as high-quality beverages that meet international standards.

Benue music icon and State Coordinator of the National Brand and Made in Nigeria Project, Hon. Orduen Andrew Ikon, popularly known as ODDYWOOD, who facilitated the watch party, said the initiative was aimed at bringing football lovers together while creating awareness for locally produced beverages.

He noted that the collaboration between entertainment, sports, and local industry would help strengthen the visibility and acceptance of Benue-made products among consumers.

The event featured live viewing of the UEFA Champions League final, product awareness activities, and interactions among football fans, industry stakeholders, and supporters of local brands.
