U.S. Embassy, Consulate in Nigeria Close for Eid al-Adha Holidays

The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday in observance of the Eid al-Adha holidays.

 

The announcement was made in a statement shared on X by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria on Wednesday.

 

According to the statement, normal operations are expected to resume after the holiday period.

 

The closure affects both the Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos, with consular and other routine services temporarily suspended during the observance.

 

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide.
