The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State for the 2027 election, Senator Wadada, has urged former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to learn from his political experience and embrace unity for the development of the state.
Speaking after his emergence as the party’s candidate, Wadada praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for keeping his promises and supporting a transparent process.
“There is no gainsaying that you have proven that you are indeed a man of your words. You kept your promise by doing all that you did,” Wadada said.
He described his victory as one that belongs to the entire state and not just to him personally.
“My victory is not a victory for me alone; it is a victory for Nasarawa State, a victory for unity, a victory for progress, and a victory for development,” he stated.
The senator recalled how he accepted defeat between 2018 and 2019 and remained loyal to the party, noting that his commitment contributed to the emergence of Governor Sule.
“I conceded defeat from 2018 to 2019 and did not only concede but submitted myself to both the party and the government. That culminated in me spearheading the campaign council that delivered our proud Engineer Abdullahi Sule,” he added.
Wadada also extended an olive branch to former IGP Adamu, urging him to place the interest of Nasarawa State above personal ambitions.
“I call on him to learn from me, because I have been in the terrain of politics before him. When and if he does that, he is not doing it for Wadada but rather for Nasarawa State,” he said.
According to him, stakeholders in the state must work together to move Nasarawa forward.
“We have no state other than Nasarawa State. We must join hands, put our heads together, to take Nasarawa to the promised land,” Wadada said.
