The Imole Campaign Council, which is coordinating the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has claimed that an alleged independent political survey commissioned by the All Progressives Congress (APC) projected victory for the incumbent governor ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo by the spokesperson of the council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign organisation said it had obtained details of what it described as an internal political assessment reportedly conducted for the opposition party.
Olajengbesi alleged that the findings of the assessment indicated strong public support for Governor Adeleke across various sectors in the state.
According to him, “The survey reportedly indicated that the governor enjoyed support among civil servants, pensioners, traders, artisans, youths, students, transport workers and grassroots political stakeholders in the state.”
He further claimed that the report projected that Adeleke currently commands more than 72 percent public support ahead of the election, adding that the margin could increase as the polls draw closer.
“The political assessment reportedly arrived at one painful conclusion for the Osun APC, that Governor Ademola Adeleke is heading towards a massive and decisive re-election victory,” Olajengbesi stated.
The campaign council also alleged that the report advised sections of the APC leadership against heavy financial spending on the election, claiming that voter dissatisfaction with the opposition party remained widespread.
Olajengbesi further accused the APC of resorting to propaganda, intimidation, and actions capable of disrupting public peace, alleging rising concerns within opposition ranks over the expected election outcome.
However, the All Progressives Congress campaign organisation, the AMBO Governorship Campaign Council, has dismissed the claims as false and misleading.
Reacting, the Co-chairman of Media (Print), Kola Olabisi, denied that the party commissioned any assessment suggesting defeat for its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
“At no point did the Osun APC commission any assessment that concluded our party is headed for defeat. The so-called report is a fabrication created in the propaganda room of the Accord Party,” Olabisi said.
He challenged the Imole Campaign Council to make the alleged report public for scrutiny, insisting that the APC remains confident of victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
Olabisi also rejected allegations of violence and desperation against the APC, stating that the party would continue to run an issue-based and peaceful campaign ahead of the polls.
