Pope Leo XIV Calls for Global Peace, Urges Dialogue Over Conflict

Pope Pope Leo XIV has called on world leaders and nations to reject war and embrace peace through dialogue and cooperation, emphasizing the urgent need for multilateral solutions to global challenges.

Speaking on the rising tensions and conflicts across the world, the Pontiff stressed the importance of promoting peaceful engagement among states. He noted that his mission is rooted in advocating for unity and understanding rather than political influence.

“Against war, we must look to promote peace, encouraging dialogue and multilateral relationships among states to find just solutions to problems,” he said.

Highlighting the devastating human cost of ongoing violence, Pope Leo XIV lamented the widespread suffering caused by conflicts. “Too many people are suffering in the world today. Too many innocent people are being killed. And I think someone has to stand up and say: ‘There’s a better way,’” he added.

The Pope also clarified the non-political nature of his position, underscoring that his message is grounded in faith and moral responsibility. “The message of the Church, my message, the message of the Gospel: ‘Blessed are the peacemakers.’ I do not look at my role as being political,” he stated.

His remarks come amid growing global concerns over escalating conflicts, with renewed calls from religious and international leaders for peaceful resolutions and sustained diplomatic efforts.
