The (ADC) has released updated lists of its convention planning committee and subcommittees as part of preparations for its forthcoming national convention scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, , said the revision was aimed at strengthening coordination and ensuring a smooth, transparent, and credible convention process.
According to the party, the updated lists form a critical part of its broader strategy to ensure a well-organised convention as it works to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections. The ADC also called on all appointed committee members to carry out their responsibilities with diligence and urged party stakeholders to support the process for a successful outcome.
The document containing the updated committee composition was signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, . It confirmed the approval of nominees to serve on the convention planning committee for the upcoming exercise.
Notably, the National Convention Central Coordination Committee will be chaired by Senator , with Senator serving as deputy chairman.
The development comes amid ongoing internal leadership tensions within the party and a standoff with the (INEC). The electoral body has derecognised the faction led by Senator pending the resolution of court cases, some of which are scheduled to be heard on the same day as the convention.
Despite these challenges, the ADC has reiterated its determination to proceed with its congresses and national convention, describing the process as essential to renewing its internal structures and strengthening its position ahead of future elections.
