February 2 sit-at-home remains in force – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reiterated that the sit-at-home order scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, remains valid and has not been cancelled.

In a statement issued by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB stressed that no All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government can stop the directive. The group urged Ndigbo and supporters of Biafra to ignore misinformation and comply fully with the order.

IPOB warned residents to be wary of what it described as agents of the APC posing as close associates of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, with the aim of spreading false information. According to the group, claims that Emma Powerful had resigned or no longer exists were fabricated to confuse the public and weaken the movement.

Powerful alleged that after the misinformation failed, those he described as APC agents contacted him directly, asking him to call off the sit-at-home, a request he said he rejected.

The statement further claimed that Ifeanyi Ejiofor no longer represents Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB, stating that he was dismissed over two years ago. IPOB also accused some members of its Directorate of State (DOS) of compromising the struggle by engaging with Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo to undermine traders who supported Kanu’s cause.

IPOB advised the public to disregard all fake resignation letters and online claims attributed to its leadership, insisting that Emma Powerful remains active and will appear on media platforms to clarify issues.

The group maintained that although it believes some elements within DOS may have been infiltrated, the wider IPOB family remains united. It again called on Biafrans to ignore misinformation and observe the February 2 sit-at-home as directed.
