The Nigeria Police Academy joined the rest of the Nigeria Police Force in commemorating 70 years of impactful service by women in the Force, a milestone that reflects courage, resilience, and professionalism.
The 24th Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, lauded the invaluable contributions of female officers in the Nigeria Police Force, both past and present, who have broken barriers and exemplified excellence in service. He described their journey as one of immense sacrifice and strength, deserving of institutional honour and national recognition.
He reaffirmed the Academy’s unwavering commitment to gender sensitivity and inclusion in all aspects of police training and leadership development. According to him, the Academy is actively working to create an enabling environment where female cadets and officers can thrive, lead, and contribute meaningfully to policing in Nigeria.
A press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police Academy, DSP Musa Isah Umar, said the celebration aligns with the Force’s broader strategy to promote gender equity, encourage more women into leadership roles, and strengthen mentorship frameworks for future generations.
