Troops of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have intercepted a vehicle transporting substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa during an operation in Agbede, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 12 Brigade, Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, the troops recovered 306 parcels weighing 276 kilograms from the vehicle on 1st December 2025.
He explained that soldiers on routine patrol stopped a red Toyota Camry with registration number ABJ 325 LA, which was conveying the illicit substance from Ekiti State and heading toward Borno State.
The driver reportedly attempted to flee upon sighting the military checkpoint but was chased and apprehended along the Apata–Lokoja road in Kogi State.
Lieutenant Abdullahi added that both the seized items and the suspect have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kogi State Command, for further investigation and prosecution.
He reaffirmed the 12 Brigade’s commitment to sustaining operations aimed at curbing criminal activities and ensuring a drug-free society.
