ADC Says It Can Win 2027 Elections Without Incumbent Governors

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says it is confident of performing strongly in the 2027 general elections, even without having sitting governors.

The party’s National Vice Chairman, Senator Nazif Gamawa, told journalists in Bauchi on Monday that the lack of incumbent governors would not affect its chances, citing former President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory over an incumbent despite similar circumstances.

Gamawa said Nigerians are increasingly embracing new political alternatives, adding that the ADC offers a credible option. He dismissed claims of internal crises and encouraged politicians dissatisfied with their current parties to join the ADC.

He noted that unlike other parties that sell expensive nomination forms, the ADC would make its forms affordable to give all Nigerians equal opportunities.

Gamawa, a former PDP Deputy National Chairman, expressed confidence that the party’s leadership is capable of repositioning the ADC for electoral success. He also promised that the party would prioritise fairness and the welfare of ordinary citizens if elected.

He urged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and vote wisely, warning that poor choices at the polls lead to continued hardship.

Gamawa added that the ADC aims to empower young people and break the grip of a few powerful individuals on the nation’s politics and governance.
