The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has decried the escalating wave of killings and insecurity across Nigeria, announcing a seven-day nationwide prayer for divine intervention.
Speaking during the 4th Pre-Shiloh Encounter Service on November 23, 2025, Oyedepo expressed deep concern over persistent attacks on worshippers and communities, describing the worsening violence as “unacceptable” and a direct assault on innocent lives.
“The Church of Christ in Nigeria is indestructible. The gates of hell cannot prevail against it. Nigeria will never become an Islamic state. Never,” he declared while addressing the congregation.
He condemned those behind the attacks and those he accused of sponsoring them, pronouncing a curse on all perpetrators.
“Every perpetrator of these killings and their sponsors come under a curse today,” Oyedepo said.
The cleric also lamented the growing kidnapping crisis, which he described as “big-time business,” with criminals demanding massive ransoms from poor communities.
He urged Christians nationwide to embark on seven days of intensive prayers beginning at midnight, calling it a necessary spiritual response to the deteriorating security situation.
“When this church prays, God hears. All who are baptised in the Holy Ghost will join me in praying extensively in the spirit. By so doing, we are sending angels on a run,” he said.
Oyedepo also instructed congregants to anoint their homes and workplaces as protective measures, describing them as “no-go areas” for evil.
“Everyone of you, anoint your houses and business places. Today, human trade has become a big-time business. Everyone behind it, in the name of Jesus, within the next seven days, they are smelling,” he declared.
The bishop vowed that attacks on church members would no longer go unanswered, announcing that a spiritual operation would begin at midnight.
“As the Lord lives, this shall not continue. Any member of this church touched equals fire and brimstone in the camp of the enemy,” he warned.
