The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, on Friday hosted the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd). The distinguished guest was warmly received by the Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, alongside members of the screening board.
A press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police Academy, DSP Musa Isah Umar, for the Commandant of the Academy, said the Chairman, in his remarks during the visit, expressed great satisfaction with the ongoing 12th Regular Course Screening Exercise, describing the process as transparent, fair, and based strictly on merit. He commended the Academy for ensuring that all stakeholders were effectively carried along and encouraged them to maintain the high standard.
Importantly, DIG Argungu (Rtd) charged the stakeholders to allow whistleblowers to do their work freely, as part of ensuring accountability and integrity throughout the screening process.
As a further gesture of support, the PSC Chairman presented relevant books to the board members, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning in today’s fast-changing world. He urged them to remain intellectually prepared and adaptable.
Recall that screening exercise for candidates for admission into the Nigeria Police Academy’s 12th Regular Course Degree Programme commenced on Monday, 6th October 2025, at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
The commencement of the screening exercise was attended by former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (Rtd), representing the judiciary on the Police Service Commission, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd), representing the Nigeria Police Force and serving as Chairman, PSC Standing Committee on Police Matters.
